In the technological world today, it’s hard to imagine life functioning without it. Modern technologies has enhanced human life in so many ways by adding comfort, convenience, and communication. Social media and texting is constantly evolving to make our daily lives more efficient, but the excessive use of the Internet is slowly becoming a detriment to our social literacy. Since users are absorbed to the web throughout their day, their time online shows detrimental effects on the actions we make, specifically in the physical world. Social media as well as texting, has impacted my life tremendously and it continues to affect the way I interact with other people.
With the advancements in technology and the way we have grown accustomed to technology as a whole, I don't personally think many of us could go without some form of it. If we let go of social media, we still need texting or phone calls. In class they said that social media is a distraction, which i fully agree with. It is supposed to be a way to share our lives with the world, but some people literally cannot go even 10 minutes without opening up one app or another. For me, i got so consumed in the social media world that I have done a social media cleanse, and aside from feeling bored here and there, it gave me some peace not having the need to constantly check. I had to go a month without my phone and social media, and it helped me learn to value the people I'm closest to more because it forced me to actually have physical interactions with them instead of being able to text or call them. i had meaningful conversations and better interactions in my personal life, I started keeping a planner to remember dates, etc. But i did miss it, and I don't think i would ever fully stop by choice. It's too much fun sometimes.
I don't believe social media has affected me in the way that I lack conversation. I converse equally though social media and person. I find it more convenient though social media for short questions or quick conversations. Today it has affected me with knowledge. I am constantly on my phone looking a political, financial, and economic news. Social media is good at sharing important things going on in the world s well. I don't believe I would ever stop. Our world just revolves around social media now and the future will only hold more applications for social use. I can admit it can be addicting and distracting for some, but a long as I find balance, social media is for me.
Social Media doesn't really affect me in a bad way. I make conversations through both with social media and in person. I have come from a far away country called Myanmar and using social medias like messenger or viber are the only ways to keep in contact with them. The same goes in states also. Sometimes, it's more convenient to converse with someone through those social media. However, you can become very addicted to social media and can cause distractions in your daily life so you need to balance it out to know what's important and what comes first. Social media can help you in many ways if you know how to use it.
Nowadays, a lot of people cannot live without Social Media, and texting which can lead people not like to talk to people face to face anymore. Social Media creates a new way for people to chat with their friends and family by texting, posting pictures and clicking “like.” It seems like people still communicate with their friends and family and there are not changes in their lives, but it does change our daily lives a lot. In my experience, when I hanged out and went to eat outside with my friends, we enjoyed to take photos and post nice pictures on our Facebook, Instagram or other phone apps instead of talking to each other face to face. Sometimes we only played our phones and did not want to talk a lot to each other. In fact, with the development of Social Media and technology, a lot of people even do not know how to communicate to their friends face to face, and people no longer made friends sincerely as before that without these technologies. Although Social Media has its disadvantages, I still continue to use it because it can help me to keep in contact with my family and friends who are far away from the United States.
Now the social media and texting in the daily life is universal. Lead us to lack of conversation. For example, in the past there is no social media and text messages, I have to face to face do talk . After we have texting and social media, every day to chat or texting,i just watching TV, mobile phone. lack of conversations, but I will not stop using social media and texting because it keeps me in contact with distant friends and relatives.
Technology always inspires changing of the world because it provides new possible things to improve our environment. It affects people’s daily lives, and has changed the society to be more progressional. Nowadays, People love to use social media to connect the society. In my opinion, social media has a advantages and disadvantages to affect. One of the most obvious negative aspects of social media that effect me is losing face-to-face contact with other people. We are sitting around with their gadgets in their hands all day long, tapping messages onto screens instead of communicating with real people. Some time we may feel more comfortable with virtual friends than with real ones. The majority think that it is easier to chat on the Internet because we lack of communication skills. On the other hand, social media also affect me in good ways. For example, I can learn different knowledge from social media, and it can inspires me to make my live batter.Although technology affects and helps us a lot, it can also become harmful when people abuse it. Therefore we should learn how to use it in the right way.
I believe social media enhances communication. Texting provides a faster way to communicate, providing more time for one to think about what they truly want to say. Social media can also be a distraction for some especially when one is attending a social event. social media/texting has given me a better way too communicate with my loved ones. Providing me with more insight on what is going on in the world today, social media is one thing i wont stop using for this very reason. If i am ever put in a situation where my surrounding needs more attention that is a reason when i wont use social media.
Technology has always played a huge role in part of our thriving. We use it as a daily basis, some more than others, especially when it comes to social media to stay on trends, texting for quick and fast responses, lack of conversations which leads to most of us turning to our phones rather than enjoying a pleasant conversation. Technology has affected me in different ways, in the way that I live my life. However, social media isn't a huge factor, the idea of keeping on trends have never really piqued my interest at all, and so I never picked up the habit of social media. Texting plays a bigger role in my life, because I've found that I would rather turn to texting people for confirmation rather than to actively seek out that person myself face-to-face. Texting goes hand in hand when it comes to lack of conversation because we turn to our phones when we have nothing really interesting to say. I think I would be able to stop since I never had interests in being on the trend, or being updated about current events, and I would be able to divert my attention to other engaging and interesting things.
Social media hasn't affected me in a bad way, it's actually been beneficial for me. It allows me to become more knowledgeable and keep in touch with my closest friends who don't live near me. I can't say that it causes me to lack communication with those around me because I still communicate with my family and those who engage in conversation with me. However I have noticed that technology has affected others differently than it has myself. Some people that I see can't put down their phone and are constantly on it while others can be perfectly fine without looking at their phone. I feel that I will be able to stop using it but not give it up forever because I do still need to use technology to watch shows, keep up with friends, and just have the social life that I have now.
In today's generation kids grow up with social media and texting its part of their life and everyone has gotten use to it. It would be hard to go through life without it because a lot of people social media is their life. I personally have notice that group of friends are using their phones instead of having a conversation. How people meet will be different too they would meet online first instead of meeting face to face. How technology affected me was that it made life easier if someone has a question they can find the answer right away. I don't feel like I would stop using technology it's part of my life and part of a lot of other people. How I see it more and more are getting stuck in social media and it could get a lot worse.
Today, many people's using social media, and texting in their daily life because it is convenient for them to connect with their family or close friends. I remember when my mom told me that before they didn't have any technology to connect with others. When they had an emergency or want to send a message; they had to drive from their house to the others and told them the problem. Now, we already have many technologies that could easily to connect with other people faster. I don't think this is lack of conversation because we're still communicate with other people around us. To me, technology doesn't affected me at all because when I'm outside I might use it a lot, but when I'm at home with my family; we always face to face and talk with each other. I don't think I would ever stop this because it help me when I'm outside and want to know what's happening in the house or something; it's easier for me to get the news faster.
As living in a technology generation, people use Social Media everyday. We text each other, leave massage and make "like" on facebook, we communicate online more and more, but at the same time we talk less and less. Because it is so convinient that just take out your phone and you can find what's going on amoung your friend or even at the next side of the world.
It is no doubt that technology really affect my life, or I can say I cannot live without my phone and internet. With my phone I can chat with my friend, I can get what's new aroung the world. It is addictive, I cannot image if we go back to the time that we don't have smart phone and wifi. Even though I know it make me spent less time with my family and friend, it just can't help to use it. However, it also help me to make contact with my family member far away, we can keep in touch with each other so well. That's also a kind of communication. Technology is made to help us to live in a better way and communicate more easily, we just have to use it in a better way.
Technology has changed my way of communication greatly. For the most part, I text instead of talking to people. Texting has made me felt more confident than speaking to others, because texting can be done anywhere anytime. I felt that I can express myself more through texts than words. Texting gave me more security than talking to people, because unlike texting where you can edit your message over and over again or to delete what you might have said wrong, words that are spoken out can never be taken back. I think texting does have an impact on me in communicating, because it has made me less confident in talking to people. Moreover, I do wish to stop this impact, but I think that it is nearly impossible to accomplish in this society. Texting to communicate is not only between friends and families, but also texting is a common tool used between employers and employees. The most I can do is to limit the use of texting, but completely stop using text is not achievable for me.
Social media and texting due lack one on one facial interactions. In the other hand, texting and social media can help users bring families and relationship together if living on the other side of the world. This technology does help internet users, easier access to news and current events. But this indulgence of information has been turned to friends (relationships) newsfeed of daily live rather than local and environmental news/dangers. Since of the up and coming age that grew up around technology, makes me think of being another consumer benefiting from this technology that better helps communication. Depending of the user’s interest, it may affect how they see or interpret news from the internet. Therefore, if the users isn’t aware of what information they’re gathering online, can distort their perception of the world in front of them.
Little by little, Internet and mobile technology seems to be subtly destroying the meaningfulness of interactions we have with others, disconnecting us from the world around us, and leading to an imminent sense of isolation in today’s society. Instead of spending time in person with friends, we just call, text or instant message them. It may seem simpler, but we ultimately end up seeing our friends face to face a lot less. Ten texts can’t even begin to equal an hour spent chatting with a friend over lunch. And a smiley-face emoticon is cute, but it could never replace the ear-splitting grin and smiling eyes of one of your best friends. Face time is important, people. We need to see each other.
I use social media and texting as a way of communication
The lack of conversation that comes from it is whether these things are admired
I don't see a problem with being able to text and socialize on the internet. If used effectively I think it's pretty useful. To me, there is an extent to where you can get sucked up into these things. If I had to stop I can. Would I stop th? No, I find it useful. Once it becomes obsessive, that's the limit I won't reach
