There are many possible reasons that make it hard to work with others. It may be because people do not communicate with their co-workers correctly so that they do not have same plan or achievement. It may be because people do not have the same value or preference even though they communicate perfectly, resulting in conflict. In most cases, I prefer to work alone, but there are some people with whom I can work efficiently without too much communication and feel more encouraged.
Some people say the best way to work together is to accept each other’s perspective and share the tasks evenly. However, I think the best way to organize collective work is to give the authority or the right of decision to one person in the group. Every work requires people to make decision, and deciding collectively can cause confusion, delay, and inconsistency in work. Like one brain controls arms and legs to complete action, the work of a group should be directed by one person. Even if the whole group make mistake since the leader is wrong, finding the cause of problem from one person’s decision must be easier than finding mistake from collective decision. Since I hate to have trouble with other members by requiring the authority, I usually follow a person who seems to like leading people, instantly giving the person the authority.
I would say that I agree with the presenters in class on the subject of working together or in a group. They explained that it is difficult to work with others because we have different ideas, conflicts might arise, not everyone might have the same amount of say in the group and so on. Personally I prefer to work alone as I get frustrated when people do not work efficiently and have found myself doing the majority amount of work countless of times as I do not want to fail the assignment. When working in these groups I have tried to explain and get people to work together, but there are so many factors that can conflict with the success of the group.
I say working with others is hard because we may not always agree on the same thing. Just like they said in class, everyone has different ideas. Having different ideas can be both good and bad. It is bad because it may lead to disagreements and discussions, and it is good because working with others means teamwork. I would rather work alone, in fact I have always liked working alone. I have my own ideas and I don't have to share them with other people. To make working with others easier and better I would be more patient and understandable.
