While some people think doing right thing and doing things right refer to who you make happy, such as individuals or others, I think those words refer to how you make decision. I think doing things right means to take action according to established rule or logic, whereas doing right thing refers to more ethical or emotional factors. For example, the person who chooses to do things right may give the decision by following the law even though the judgement does not benefit to anyone. On the other hand, the person who places importance on doing right thing may even violate the law in order to make more people happy. I think emotion and ethic are uncertain things and the action performed based on them has the risk of being able to work only temporarily; it may cause more problems or disorder consequently. However, laws or even logics which people doing things right depend on can be the temporary concept; they may be established by temporary authority and may be considered as wrong in different time. Nevertheless, I personally think doing things right is likely to be more certain and does not make me regret, even though I often prioritize my emotion and make mistakes.
I agree with the speaker when they said that doing the right thing can be painful. The right thing may be something that you don't want to do, and it can hurt yourself or the people that you may love. While doing things right, you get no options or opinion on whether it's morally correct for you to do. However, another speaker also mentioned how doing things right focuses on gradual improvement and that others always care about perfection, which I agree on.
I feel like doing the right thing is something that isn't able to be done in every situation. Sometimes instinct takes over and we end up doing what's going to end up hurting even more just to avoid feeling the pain at that certain moment. While with doing things right it's just done more efficient as we don't have to think about any consequences happening.
I agree with the first presenter who said doing the right thing involves using emotional decision simply because the thought of being judged. People should know in deciding to do the right thing may be the wrong thing but doing things the right way is important. You can learn from your mistakes and gain knowledge from that experience. The second presenter mentioned doing the right thing involves taking act can help self esteem, I agree. It can effect a persons emotional evaluation on deciding to do the right things.
